Representatives of the Union of Mining Engineers and Geologists of Serbia composed of: professor Dragan Ignjatovic and MSc Natalija Pavlovic, went to Medellin (Colombia) for the annual gathering of the Society of Mining Professors - SOMP (Association of Mining Professors) in the period from September 19th to September 25th, 2021.

Lectures and discussions dealt with the current problems of academics in mining - lecture modernization and enrollment of students for mining degrees.
Natalija Pavlovic, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Mining and Geology, presented her work titled Quantitative risk assessment on surface mines.
